Bloomingdale’s Launches Fall/Winter 2020 Campaign ‘Embrace Together’

Love together. Live together. Embrace together.

Breathing warm light into the usual chill of winter, Bloomingdale’s introduces a calm and softer season ahead championing the colors of nature. Feelings of looking forward are the focus for this campaign and sharing simple moments with family as a fresh positive spirit highlights a new horizon. This new mood is reflected through uncomplicated, simple styles that feel right for right now. It's not about the world as it was. It's about the world as you want it to be. Timeless pieces with a 2020 twist and a movement towards sensible, sophisticated purchases.

Womenswear

What better to instill this fresh-start-feeling for womenswear than a palette of earthy tones inspired by Mother Nature herself. Clean, neutral fall/winter 2020 pieces are layered up for true autumnal feels as warm cable knit sweaters from 3.1 Phillip Lim rub shoulders with brown leather trenches and matching leather skirts from Isabel Marant. Knowing the key to any tonal, layered look is a fusion of texture and shape, opulent silks for modest layering from Deveaux are here to go hand-in-hand with thick knits and modest maxis from Co. Meanwhile Sacai plays with experimental draping, neck ties and pleatsFor those seeking vegan leather, Nanushka and Remain do it best.

Hit Scandi label Ganni, remains in the hot style spot for fashion girls everywhere as the eco-conscious brand nails the ultimate cream tailored suit. Teamed with flat chunky boots and a staple masculine white shirt, this hero look sums up Bloomingdale’s modern but simple take on the classics this season. Cecilie Bahnsen’s season-less approach to design continues to highlights Copenhagen brands as the go-to for cool street-style with cute, girly dresses to invest in.

When it comes to office-appropriate outfits, Theory and Vince champion staples in a range of camel and burnt orange shades. Think sharp terracotta tailoring paired with fluid silk off-white shirts, or utility blazers cinched-in with tie belts. An alternative to classic cuts comes from 3.1 Phillip Lim in the form of a pastel green silk blazer and Isabel MarantStella McCartney and Alexander Wang also follow suit with edgier options for the office playing with the proportions of mainstream tailoring.

We also see a new twist on the fundamental shirt. Crisp white styles with elongated collars and voluminous sleeves from CMEO go up against the draped playful collars seen at Sacai. Palmer Harding - renowned for mastering shirts and shirt dresses - creates twisted necklines for this season while Alexander Wang experiments with cropped cuts and off-the-shoulder shirt dresses.

For a classic contrast to neutrals - and a timeless approach to wardrobe staples - black is seen across all categories and brands from Helmut Lang’s cropped blazers and Self-Portrait’s lightweight dresses, to Zimmermann and Isabel Marant’s monochrome prints.

The season isn’t without a shot of color here and there though. Fiery red burns brightly through floaty bohemian dresses from Shona Joy and Self-Portrait as with draping, pleating and lace detailing from Zimmermann and Ellery. Power statement suits can also be found from Alice + Olivia.

As for accessories, the perfect way to complement fashion’s soft earthy shades? Charmingly rustic gold jewelry with pearl detailing from Joanna Laura Constantine hits the mark. Similarly, Valere’s unique pearl drop earrings and necklaces add interest to fall’s new nudes. For super statement OTT earrings, Cult Gaia’s feathers, sequins and dripping diamonté details add excitement to all ears.

Boucheron and David Yurman continue to offer traditional signature classics in the Fine Jewelry Department whilst Marli and Suzanne Kalan present a color feast for the eyes with rainbow stones across rings, earrings and bangles.

Even footwear doesn’t escape the clutches of fall/winter 2020’s cool and calm color palette. Newly launched brand for the season, Studio Amelia offers up minimal cushioned mules and strappy slingback sandals in sumptuous caramel, white or contrasting black. For those who like their steps to make more of a statement, Gianvitto Rossi and Sam Edelman’s animal print doesn’t disappoint. Python print mules and boots add some flair whilst in-keeping with the naturalistic theme.

The star style player for fall footwear however, has to be a pair of chunky boots. Whether ankle, flat, pull-on or lace-up, Stella McCartneyProenza SchoulerOff-White, and Gianvito Rossi serve up a selection for investing in - perfect for giving dresses and suits an effortless cool-girl spin. Pointed western style boots from Isabel Marrant continue to elevate girly dresses whilst croc knee high heeled boots from Schutz lend a modest twist to midi skirts.

Square toe finishes are still pushing the ‘90s narrative through footwear in a big way from established designers Malone Souliers and Gianvitto Rossi, to contemporary cool brands By Far and Studio Amelia. No style is left unturned as thong sandals, mules, boots and novelty heels all get the square toe treatment.

The Footwear Department in Kuwait’s 360 Mall sees an influx of fourteen new brands launched this season including; Rejina PyoNeousAquazzuraGedebeAlexandre VauthierThe RowStudio AmeliaProenza SchoulerSam EdelmanSchutzIngridLes Petits JoueursStuart Weitzman and Alevi.

The ‘90s vibe translates right through into the Handbag Department as micro styles from Chloé and By Far make a big impact. Puffy quilted leather from Hereu, embellishment from Alexander Wang and pearl finishing from Vanina also standout as vegan leather options become popular too.

Menswear

Menswear sees a parallel approach to womenswear’s neutral and earthy shades creating a wearable and smart selection for men thanks to AmiEleventyTheory and Vince. Mixed materials of suede jackets, knit sweaters, cotton tees and chinos make for solid staples to layer time and again. Technical fabrics seen at Wood Wood and Stone Island give interest to an array of muted colors.

There is of course a response to simplicity in the form of bold prints. Palm Angels and Les Deux hero playful floral patterns as the perfect pairing to plain pants and tie-dye lives for another season with Amiri’s super statement bomber. StussyMoncler, and Moschino similarly offer up a loud alternative to nudes with fun shirts, sweaters and t-shirts. All-over photo prints, plaid and graphic print t-shirts hint to a Wild West trend also filtering through.

Layering is made easy with chunky knitwear in nostalgic shapes courtesy of Off-White and Amiri to be worn with plaid shirts, logo t-shirts and varsity jackets nodding to a collegiate feel.

For workwear and smarter looks, a movement towards retro tailoring emerges from 3.1 Phillip LimTheoryNeil Barrett and DSquared as dress-down suits and blazers are teamed with t-shirts and sneakers.

Sneakers still rule as the footwear of choice for men as Off-White lead the way reimagining chunky sneakers. Think thick soles and contrasting colors, with more of a skater silhouette for fall/winter 2020 or leather ‘90s styles for those who prefer a sleeker sneaker.

When it comes to kidswear, fashion favors the bold for fall/winter 2020. Pretty prints from MonnalisaVersaceMSGM and Stella McCartney shout the loudest looks this season. Girls can expect frills to flourish on flouncy tier sweater trims, Zimmermann dresses and occasion wear from Junona and Mon Cheri.

Boys can look forward to a new collection from Boss as well as an outdoor-ready, rebellious spirit seen through versatile camo prints and cargo pants from MSGM, tracksuits from Moncler and logo prints from Dolce & Gabbana.

Ready for a refresh? Succumb to the calm, breezy beat of fall with Bloomingdale’s.
