On the occasion of Nomad Circle Capri (4-7 July 2024), one of the most prestigious art and design fairs known for its nomadic spirit, Italy Sotheby's International Realty presented a project on the 6th of July in collaboration with Neapolitan artist Giuliano Andrea dell'Uva in the prestigious setting of Villa Quattro Colonne. This historic residence, designed and built in 1920 by painter Goffredo Sinibaldi Paolucci, commands the island with a spectacular view of the Gulf from the renowned Via Tragara. The villa is distinguished by its majestic triangular pediment and entrance colonnade, inspired by classical Roman architecture, with its four imposing Doric columns evoking the image of an ancient Roman temple.
Inside, Villa Quattro Colonne features an impressive reception hall with ceilings over six meters high and Art Deco furnishings, including magnificent floors adorned with Capri ceramics and two panoramic terraces. Precious materials like Carrara marble and Murano glass contribute to making this residence a true gem, offering an authentic journey into the past. From here, one can enjoy a breathtaking view spanning from the historic Piazzetta of Capri to Marina Piccola.
The special project, named "Capri Perspectives," offered an evocative setup inspired by Capri's history. In a room with painted ceilings, a table designed by the architect and made by Forma&Cemento hosted ceramic plates with white and blue brushstrokes, recalling the island's views and the works of Vietri artists. Complementing the setup, visitors admired the fine natural hemp fabrics from the Capri collection, designed by dell’Uva for Fischbacher 1819. The event perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Nomad Circle, blending historical charm with contemporary artistic vision.
