Terzihan is a legacy steeped in centuries of artistry, shaped by heritage, and reimagined through a bold, modern lens. Founded in the 1970s, but with creative roots reaching back to the Ottoman and Persian era, Terzihan today is led by brothers Cem and Can Terzihan. Cem, the Creative Director, brings the design vision, while Can, as General Manager, steers the business side of the house. Together, they represent a new generation shaping the brand’s global identity.
“Our heritage is not just a story of craftsmanship, it’s a way of thinking, of creating with intention and care,” says Cem. “Coming from a lineage of sartorial mastery from Persian Empire era, this meticulous attention to detail naturally evolved into our jewelry. Today, we carry that same perfectionism, but we reinterpret it through a modern, multicultural lens.”
“We don’t design trends, we design feelings, places, memories”. Cem Terzihan
The family’s story begins in Mardin, a city in southeastern Turkey known for its breathtaking architecture and cultural coexistence. “Our roots in Mardin, a place of coexistence and timeless artistry, remind us to honor the past while creating something meaningful for the present,” Cem shares. The ancestral connection to tailoring and craftsmanship forms the soul of Terzihan’s identity today.
The generational transition within the company wasn’t simply a handover, but a natural, shared evolution. “With each generation, new influences came in: new cities, new cultures, new ways of thinking,” Cem explains. “That blend of old soul and new spirit has made Terzihan stronger, more agile, and more relevant to today’s world, while staying true to our essence.”
This modern spirit has resonated globally. In just 2023 and 2024, Terzihan’s distinctive designs were chosen by icons such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey, and Tarkan. “This foundation has not only shaped our philosophy but also earned us a place on some of the world’s most iconic figures, who chose our designs for their bold spirit and authenticity,” says Cem.
“We believe in innovation through meaning”. Cem Terzihan
What sets Terzihan apart is a deep artistic philosophy. “We don’t design trends, we design feelings, places, memories,” Cem notes. “Every Terzihan piece is a dialogue between architecture, geography, and emotion. Whether it’s a dome in Southern Europe or the triangular patterns of Aztec temples, our forms are symbols.”
That creative spirit is paired with obsessive attention to craft. “We produce our pieces the way our ancestors tailored fine garments, with obsession for detail and structure. But we also believe in innovation through meaning,” he adds. This includes daring use of asymmetric balance, architectural forms, and colorways that challenge tradition.
A standout example is Black Editions, a collection that embodies the brand’s fearless identity. “It’s a mirror to our values: genderless, bold, independent, and inclusive: it’s a visual statement about where we stand today”
As Terzihan continues to expand internationally through retailers like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, the goal isn’t just growth. “Our priority is not scale, but resonance… always boutique in soul, no matter the scale.”
“Terzihan will always be a bridge between generations, between cultures, between East and West,” Cem reflects. “We believe the brand’s future will stay rooted in craftsmanship while pushing creative and cultural boundaries. Terzihan will evolve, but always with a soul.”
