Dolce&Gabbana Beauty introduces Velvet Mughetto, the latest addition to the exclusive Velvet Collection. This new scent has been imagined as an allegory of the Sicilian spring: the mild temperatures awakening the island’s landscape and its delicate yet colourful blossoms. Century after century, the temples of Sicily have borne witness to the eternal rhythms of nature’s renaissance, the green plants bringing freshness, while the golden rays of the sun warm the gentle air and illuminate the bountiful fields of wild flowers.
THE FRAGRANCE
Under the caress of the spring heat, Velvet Mughetto reveals an intricate olfactory embroidery with the enveloping, smooth floral Lily of the Valley at its heart. Perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur has created an Eau de Parfum of depth and character, inspired by the Sicilian land – a floral fruity scent with a generous, blooming bouquet that blends sparkling citrus notes with fiery floral accords and milky, sensual woods.
THE INGREDIENTS
The scent opens with sparkling citrus top notes of Italian bergamot essence, bringing a fresh piquancy, reminiscent of the seaside. Cassis adds a dark fruity facet, while pink pepper brings a spicy, rosy note to the opening of the scent. Then, at the heart of the fragrance, comes Lily of the Valley, the delicate woodland flower that gives the scent its name.
Graced with a rare duality, this Lily of the Valley accord combines a strong green character with a sweeter, more radiant facet. Warmed by the balmy rays of the Sicilian sun, it blends with creamy magnolia and earthy patchouli to reveal a generous blooming bouquet. This finally gives way to milky, sensual base notes of warm and resinous sandalwood and cashmeran wood, which capture the light of the island’s sun at its highest.
THE PACKAGING
The bottle shares the signature silhouette of the Velvet Collection, a glass flacon crowned with a gold-trimmed velvet cap. For Velvet Mughetto, this classic design is reimagined in a fresh green hue, echoing the delicate tint of the fragrance within, and evoking the richness of nature and the joy of spring. An engraved golden plate finishes the bottle, which is sumptuously housed in a black coffret of precious velvet.
