FRESCOBOL CARIOCA Presents the Pre-Spring 2026 Collection: Origens

Introducing Origens, a collection shaped by 1940’s Rio, when Brazilian modernism flourished and the game of Frescobol was born. Inspired by bold modernist forms and the artisanal craftsmanship of our founding product, the frescobol bat, Origens introduces new fabrications and prints that embody the artistry and spirit of our beginnings.

Prints remain central to the brand’s identity, with the iconic Copacabana wave - its founding design - remaining a cornerstone of the house codes. This season, the wave motif evolves into sleek geometric heights, while the Montanha print reflects the silhouette of Corcovado Mountain, nature’s pedestal to the emblematic Christ the Redeemer, expressed in layered hues that both complement and contrast. New Fibra and Copa Grain prints pay homage to the offcuts that form the brand’s eponymous frescobol bats, echoing the organic undulations of wood, each one unique. Angra Madeira and Wood Knot designs draw inspiration from marcenaria, celebrating the beauty of repetition and harmony within interlocking elements.

Origens reinvigorates knitwear through refined craftsmanship and, for the first time, translates the brand’s iconic wave and the wood of its founding frescobol bat into the category. Romano, a rich cotton-cashmere knit, features varied-gauge ribbed panels with a tonal pattern, echoing the interlocking wood of the Trancoso frescobol bat - subtle in complexity, effortless in wear. Rino, a cotton-silk short-sleeved polo, showcases a tightly woven jacquard with a gentle sheen, its weave reminiscent of wavy wood grain. Romero, the knit statement of the season, is a brushed cotton-cashmere piece emblazoned with the bold Copa Grain print in soft degradé. Crochet remains a staple of the category with Marques, a wide-gauge short-sleeved cardigan accented by contrast stitching.

Signature shirting is refreshed this season with considered updates. Roberto, in linen, pairs with matching Felipe shorts in bespoke Fibra print, creating a seamless set where patterns blur across garments for a unified statement look. In lighter ready-to-wear, the Alves linen shirt is detailed with delicate broderie anglaise in a bespoke sun motif on the breast pocket, finished with tonal fantasy stitching along the collar and sleeves. Seasonal shirting can be styled with the wide-leg Aldo trouser, reimagined in a refined herringbone to match the Fontes overshirt, forming an effortless transitional ensemble. Meanwhile, co-ord sets continue with the Belford jacket and Oscar trouser, now rendered in an autumnal cotton-cashmere blend for elevated everyday wear.

Concurrent with seasonal updates, the collection pays homage to the leisure sport of frescobol with Intervalo, a capsule designed for movement as pleasure rather than performance. House-blend terry cotton is woven in seasonal Copa Grain jacquard for a relaxed pairing of Augusto shorts and Roberto shirt, while the essential linen- blend tee, Dinis, becomes a canvas for Art of Summering and Rio de Janeiro motifs - merging breathable fabrication with bold, bespoke illustrations that are unmistakably FRESCOBOL CARIOCA.

Seasonal colours draw from the nostalgic haze of mid-century 1940s Rio. Base tones of Shell, Oyster, and Coastal Blue evoke the streets shaped by Oscar Niemeyer and Burle Marx, while highlights of Pine, Copper, and Willow Green recall the shift from city to shore at Posto 5 - where the warmth and rhythm of the beach signal a return to FRESCOBOL CARIOCA’S Origens.

The new FRESCOBOL CARIOCA: Origens collection is now available online at www.frescobolcarioca.com and www.ounass.ae, as well as in-store at Harvey Nichols Dubai and Bloomingdale's Dubai.
