Garden designer Cali Rand tells her favorite English gardening stories in Sleeper’s new Spring-Summer 2023 campaign

Britain’s prominent female gardener and model Cali Rand fronts the SS23 Sleeper collection campaign. The images were shot in Myddelton House Gardens, a botanical gem of North London. Tami Aftab, an English-Pakistani photographer whose works touch on subjects of intimacy, family, identity, and play, captured Cali in her natural habitat. Cali is wandering through the gardens, and contemplating the awakening of nature and its everlasting beauty in the looks from the collection.

The story begins with a doll glass house. This dollhouse, it seems, is more than just a toy and represents something more profound. Perhaps the idea of peace and quiet - personal sanctuary sheltering one's spirit, a dedicated space to nurture it like a gardener would care for a delicate flower. As garden itself it serves as a symbol of hope and patience.

“Shooting for Sleeper was a truly magical and very inspiring day for me, surrounded by extremely talented young creatives full of gorgeous energy and in the most divine garden location. Wearing their latest collection which is cool, summer vibes, ageless and effortless to wear,” - says Cali.

The green field of the newly blooming daffodils and cornflowers becomes the perfect backdrop for Cali’s posing in a sky-blue Lili Marleen skirt-suit look. For a moment in the glasshouse garden, Cali is wearing the hero piece from the collection, a relaxed Flower power suit, adorned with a pin set of poppy flowers. The poppy flower holds many beautiful meanings in Ukrainian culture – it symbolizes the sun, the infinity of existence, lush beauty, freedom, and peace. The detachable poppy-shaped flower pins have been designed in collaboration with Ukrainian designer Anton Belinskiy and can complement any piece from the collection, adding the feminine energy of calm confidence to the wearer.

For Spring Summer 2023, Sleeper debuts with a line of tailored business-appropriate looks that also reflect the brand's love for inner and outer comfort. The New Flower Power suit in navy and grey is made of lightweight and breathable linen and comes with a jacket and pants. The tailoring capsule complements a 2-piece Lili Marleen skirt suit in bright blue, navy, grey, and pink gingham print. The waistcoat of the suit is adorned with a delicate bow on the back and is followed by a maxi wrap skirt. For a playful feminine look, all pieces can be decorated with detachable flowers that come separately in a pin set of poppy flowers in pink or red. Another new versatile piece that will effortlessly take you from the morning meeting to an evening cocktail is a Bella Polka Dot Dress in three colors - beige, white, and pink.

Sleeper classics were reintroduced in new colors and patterns for the Spring Summer 2023 collection.
