This year, the festival opens once again in its iconic style with a celebration of Arab music. At City Centre Mirdif, the launch event features artists who have redefined the region’s sonic landscape. Jordanian rock band Jadal, whose sound resonates with both contemporary sensibilities and Arabic identity, arrives with their signature fusion of poetic lyricism and raw riffs. Later, Syrian singer Al Shami, known for turning personal stories into anthems of a generation, lends his voice to the night, reminding listeners of the timeless emotional force of Arab music.
Adding to the excitement, Dubai Festival City Mall and Festival Plaza have also unveiled a dynamic DSS calendar. At Festival City Mall, the opening weekend sets the tempo with performances by regional talents Reina Khoury and Noel Kharman, infusing the city’s air with Arabic melodies and modern beats. The season further unfolds: think The Messi Experience, an interactive tribute to the football icon’s legacy, and the Modesh Splash Park, a Dubai kiddie favourite for generations.
Over at Festival Plaza, shopping becomes an invitation to indulge and win, with draws offering brand-new SUVs, cash prizes, and family-friendly activities designed to nurture young imaginations. Meanwhile, Champs Summer Camp offers spirited sessions in basketball, padel, and martial arts, reflecting Dubai’s vision of raising a generation defined by creativity and culture.
Dubai has always stood out in sending a clear and elegant reminder that summer here isn’t endured, but in fact celebrated.
