The Spring/Summer 2023 Johanna Ortiz Cayatena Collection pays homage to Johanna Ortiz’s Spanish and Columbian roots with its exotic prints. The Festive Flamenco spirit inspired the collection’s vibrant colour palette and playful spirit.
The collection features an exploration of textures and adds a celebratory feeling to Spring/Summer 2023. The custom iridescent and sensational prints come to life with hand crafted sequins and embroidery. With its celebration of culture Johanna Ortiz aims to preserve tradition and craftsmanship with the new collection.
Looking back into the Johanna Ortiz archive to the era of the festive bolero...an occasion to bring an iconic silhouette back to life. Beloved pieces such as the “Haute Boheme” tunics are combined with a re-interpretation of the 70’s halter dress and Pierre Cardin inspired sleeves, a contemporary gypsy dress code.
A fair balance between bold prints and luminous solids. A festive color palette merges a sublime orange sunrise with aurora pink, gitana wine and hypnotic malachite green.
The Cayatena collection draws attention to the detailed accessories encompassing culture and spirit. From oversized city totes and handcrafted mask bags to the statement necklaces and earrings, the accessories for Spring Summer 2023 are unique in their own way.
The mini mochila has become one of Johanna Ortiz’s statement pieces. For Spring/Summer 2023 it has been reinterpreted with intricately handwoven with glass beads for the day and hand embroidered with golden palm trees and a dancing silk tassels for the evening.
