Fashion, art and solidarity are the key elements of Pitti Immagine 2023 open day, with an exclusive event by Luisa Beccaria, for the first time in Florence.

The iconic brand, worldwide appreciated for its bespoke style — light, poetic, hyper-feminine — presented its “Homage to Florence”, a fashion show with garden part blending together iconic dresses from the current collection, and a preview both of the incoming Resort 2023 and of next season.

Always sensitive to medical research, the designer agreed to cooperate with Corri la vita association in order to support the research and the battle against breast cancer.

The evening started with the live performance of Mascarade Opera Studio artists, who payed homage to Opera in the stunning Frescobaldi garden. Just-for-one-day models then began the défilé with almost fifty looks for a bucolic garden party, or a romantic and cheerful day on the Tuscan coast. They were Italian and international girls, mothers and daughters, sisters, friends and young artists.

Light fabrics; georgette, organdy and satin, are enriched by embroideries and fil coupé; prints include water lilies and faded sea-flowers; cotton is carved into broderie anglaise with marine origins, an embroidered tulle resembles a sea anemone.

The aquatic theme is paired with a celebration of women’s beauty and nature — in their infinite shades fading one into each other — inspiration of Resort 2023 collection. The idea of shading is is the key; it is a playful variation of macro and micro floral prints on maxi, extremely light dresses made of horizontal strips with a patchwork effect. It is the colour gradient of sunset on an impalpable chiffon minidress with three-quarter bishop sleeves, or on a wide-neckline midi dress.

Shading is also the dégradé de couleurs effect on full-sequin night dresses, resembling bright paintings of mysterious landscapes and flowers. Nightwear shines in long dreamy dresses.

Colours and prints evoke Arno and Tirreno waters, Florence gardens, Renaissance and Botticelli, as well as the muted tones of sky and earth.

Dresses are still available for sale on luisabeccaria.it. Part of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
