During Milan Design Week 2025, the Caradosso event space (via Caradosso 16) hosted MATER IA, a project that explored the intersection of design, photography, video, and artificial intelligence. Curated by Lorenzo Giubergia of Giubergia-Griglio Architetti, the exhibition investigated the dialogue between material, artistic creation, and new technologies.
At the centre of the installation stood a table and a chair, essential, archetypal objects presented in their purest form. The table combined a solid wood top with travertine block legs, while the chair, a study in balance and duality, featured contrasting shades of the same material, emphasising its sculptural composition.
Surrounding these pieces were works by artists Per Barclay, Gioberto Noro, and Daniele Ratti. Their photographs, free from digital manipulation, focused on architecture, light, and the ambiguity of reality, merging reflection with substance to create symbolic, immersive spaces.
The final room was dedicated to UN_I[N]VERSO, a project by multimedia artist Gianluca Iadema. Through sound, video, performance, and sculpture, Iadema offered a sensory and philosophical reflection on unity across diverse forms of expression.
MATER IA was a journey from raw material to artificial intelligence, where the artist’s thought remained at the heart of creation, and art became a space of transformation and vision.
