L'Officiel UK : Your journey to winning Miss Continental United Kingdom 2023 has been inspiring. What motivated you to compete, and what does this title mean to you?

Diana Aliverdiieva : For me, the title of Miss Continental United Kingdom 2023 is not just an honorary title but a true platform for transformations and limitless opportunities. This title embodies the recognition of my efforts, dedication, and passion for what I do. My true motivation lies in the desire to inspire women to believe in themselves and to pursue their dreams, no matter what. I firmly believe that self-love plays a key role in this process. The ability to value and accept oneself opens the doors to true confidence and happiness. I sincerely believe that beauty is not only a reflection of outward appearance but also the inner light that we can share with those around us. This competition has provided me with a unique opportunity to share my ideas, support important initiatives, and inspire others to follow their dreams. I hope to demonstrate that true beauty is rooted in confidence, kindness, and the drive for positive change, as well as in the deep love for oneself that allows us to showcase our best qualities and inspire others.

LO: Pageantry often goes beyond beauty—it’s about confidence, advocacy, and personal growth. How has this experience shaped you as a person?
DA: Thank you for the question! I truly believe that pageantry is not just about appearance, but also about inner confidence, advocating for one's interests, and personal growth. For example, when I participated in a pageant, I was able to develop my leadership skills. One of the tasks was to organize a charity event, and I had the honor of leading the team. This provided me with the opportunity not only to showcase my organizational skills but also to learn how to interact with diverse individuals and build trusting relationships. This experience became a turning point in my life. I realized how important it is to support those around us and work for the common good. Now, I feel more confident in my abilities and capable of influencing positive changes in society. I take pride in being able to inspire others and share my experiences to help them strive towards their goals.

LO: Many beauty queens use their platform to promote important causes. What initiatives or social issues are close to your heart, and how are you using your title to make a difference?

DA : Yes, you are right. I have the opportunity to use my platform to promote important social initiatives, especially in the fight against violence against women and domestic violence, the consequences of which are devastating not only for the victims but also for their children. Unfortunately, many women face violence in their homes, and children who witness this aggression also suffer from severe emotional, and sometimes physical, trauma. It is important for women not to remain silent about their pain and suffering. Open discussion of this issue is one of the key steps toward healing and a brighter future. I collaborate with local organizations that help victims of violence and attend workshops to raise awareness. We, women, possess hidden resources that can work wonders. In our hearts lies a spirit of strength that enables us not only to overcome difficulties but also to be reborn after the most challenging trials, including cases of domestic violence. I actively use social media to disseminate information and engage young people in discussions about this important topic. I am confident that by working together, we can create a safe society for all women and children.

 

LO : Who has inspired you the most in your life and how?
DA : For me, the greatest source of inspiration is myself. Every challenge I have overcome and every success I have achieved has taught me that there is an inner light and a desire for self-improvement that can be powerful drivers of change. I have always understood that within me lie hidden resources and energy that enable me to become better. We are all our own inspirers and creators of our lives, and this awareness has helped me move forward, striving for new goals while inspiring others to do the same. I believe that by taking responsibility for our actions and dreams, we can create a world where we find true happiness.

LO : Do you have any advice for aspiring titleholders?
DA: Every one of us is capable of shining if we express our true individuality and passion. My advice to all aspiring titleholders is: "Be bold, be yourself" Never be afraid to showcase your uniqueness, and pursue your dreams with pride, love, and confidence. Beauty is not only about what you see, but also about who you are on the inside. In a world full of standards and expectations, it is important to remember that your uniqueness is your strength. And finally, surround yourself with positive and supportive people. When you have a good team that believes in you, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Follow your dreams with an open heart and courage, because that is what truly makes you a queen!
