To celebrate Moschino’s 40th anniversary, “40 years of love”, four friends of the House were asked to create a collection inspired by Franco Moschino’s iconic designs from 1983 to 1993.
Four celebrated stylists, four extraordinary women, four acts of the same play composed by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Lucia Liu and Katie Grand.

These disparate visions produced by each creator’s varied generational and artistic background share one common goal: showing how four separate points of view simultaneously articulate the variety of Franco Moschino’s inspiration, and the common thread of his philosophy. Franco passionately hated retrospectives (comparing them to funerals) and only focused on the future.
Franco’s legacy in fashion, forty years after the foundation of his brand and twenty-nine years after his untimely death is everywhere. His influence is here, now. His attitude, his values, his insistence that women retain their freedoms, their agency, and in shaping their own look to avoid becoming victims of a system of which he was deeply apprehensive.
Looking ahead, not backwards is the only way that mattered to him.
