Olivia Rodrigo Is the Youngest Artist to Take Over the FC Barcelona Jersey, and She's Performing for Her Top Fans Too

Olivia Rodrigo and FC Barcelona walk into El Clásico for what is Spotify's most compelling collaboration yet. Spotify, four years into its partnership with FC Barcelona, has built the jersey takeover into one of football's most anticipated moments by doing something no other partner does: it removes its own logo and hands that space to an artist. For El Clásico on May 10 at Spotify Camp Nou, FC Barcelona players will take to the pitch wearing a version of the iconic blaugrana jersey featuring Olivia Rodrigo's logo, making her the youngest artist to feature on the jersey in the partnership's history.

And the best part is that the El Clásico weekend arrives as Olivia prepares to release her third studio album on June 12th - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, and Spotify is marking the moment by bringing her face to face with her biggest fans. An intimate, invite-only concert on the evening of May 8th in Barcelona will celebrate the fandom unique to Livies, with guests selected through their listening on Spotify.

"Seeing OR on a FC Barcelona jersey for El Clásico, I don't even know how to process that," said Olivia. "Getting to perform for the fans who've been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. That's everything to me."

 

With over 55 million monthly listeners on Spotify and nine songs in the Spotify Billions Club, Olivia commands the kind of loyalty that FC Barcelona understands instinctively. As Marc Hazan, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Partnerships at Spotify put it: "Fandom doesn't have borders, and the most powerful thing Spotify can do is bring those worlds together."

 

Beyond the jersey, Spotify and FC Barcelona have created a capsule collection with Olivia,  bringing together the iconic identity of Barça with her own visual world across exclusive apparel and accessories including a t-shirt, fleece crew, hoodie, bucket hat, scarf, travel mug, sticker pack and tote bag. Limited to 1,899 pieces (a nod to the club's founding year), the collection is available via Barça Official Stores in Spain and online from May 1st.

 


Olivia will be the eighth artist to be featured on the iconic FC Barcelona jersey with Spotify, following previous shirt takeovers with Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Coldplay, KAROL G, The Rolling Stones, ROSALÍA and Drake.
