Olivia von Halle Enters the World of Dreams with its PS24 Collection
Taking inspiration from Mary Blair, a pioneering female illustrator who helped to define Disney’s visual language in the 1940s and 50s, The Dreamworld Collection’s designs are painterly, playful, and richly hued. Blair conjured high fantasy with feminine edge, creating dazzling colour palettes and delicious scenery for classics including Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. Her divine visions inform prints featuring elaborate palaces, ritzy bows, and abundant florals, while heraldic motifs in luxurious devoré add an extra note of majesty.
Blair’s artistic ethos can also be felt in the crafting of key pieces. The divine bow print was hand-painted in house at Olivia von Halle’s London atelier before being translated into a screen-print, and a delectable array of coloured silks were chosen with her vivid colour combinations in mind. Made for only the most decadent down-time, whether flicking through the morning papers or holding court by the cocktail cabinet at midnight, these pieces are as leisurely as they are luxurious.
