What is French style? The question itself an enigma, kindling endless fascination. An irresolute fashion residing above an oxymoronic foundation of audacious tradition. An evolutive fashion, like the palimpsest of multiple currents from all over, in which couture conventions embrace an astonishing mix of cultures to become what is known as the French exception. This style of an ineffable magnetism that still intrigues the world; that too is paradoxial: sophistication with a dilettante's air. French allure is a trompe l'oeil. The French touch never fails to captivate.
Anchored in this unique heritage, Louis Vuitton has always had a travelling spirit. The Maison is a vessel sailing through time, guided by the winds of savoir-faire, technique, discovery and artistic ideals. For the Fall-Winter 2023 collection, the show returns to the vaulted salons of the Musée d'Orsay, where artist Philippe Parreno and production designer James Chinlund once again sign the scenography with a concept based on sound illusions conceived by Nicolas Becker. The stylistic mystery intensifies. A French (fashion) story.
