For the occasion, the Parisian Palace will be adorned with a thousand sparkles in the jeweller’s colours, revealing a chic, modern space for moments of sharing and celebration. Lighting up the prestigious hotel are trees in the Maison’s signature electric blue and purple trees, XXL silver snowflakes, and a myriad of Messika-branded gift packages. The magical décor is inspired by the design of the iconic Move collection. The spaces become jewels in and of themselves, with every element twinkling from the trees and snowflakes to create a radiant constellation of light.
“For this project, we dreamt up a series of ephemeral decorations in the shape of pendants, paying tribute to our new So Move collection.” - Valérie Messika Artistic Director and Founder of Maison Messika
AN EXCEPTIONAL SETTING
This new collaboration with Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris was an obvious choice for the jewellery Maison. A favourite among many artists and re-designed by Philippe Starck, the hotel is both an iconic and contemporary space, always moving, just like Messika.
“The Royal Monceau is an institution that I’ve loved for a long time, and for me it’s connected to a unique story involving Beyoncé. It was during one of her stays in the Parisian Palace that she discovered our Maison. A magical meeting for Messika” explains Valérie Messika.
The Parisian jeweller’s energy naturally echoes that of the palace and the work of the famous French designer.
“Philippe Starck has succeeded in instilling a chic, relaxed atmosphere that makes this prestigious hotel a lovely place to be. Naturally, this resonates with Messika, as a luxury Maison that creates an elegant, welcoming universe.” - Valérie Messika
A NEW JOURNEY OF TASTE
Promising festive, gourmet moments, Messika and Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris Pastry Chef, Quentin Lechat, embarked on a unique co-design process to create a bold, limited edition Yule log. Together, a multitude of Move designs inspired by the moving diamond create a sublime, immaculate dessert: Full Vanilla. It’s a delight for every palate, showcasing one of the most luxurious desserts since “vanilla is the diamond of Pastry Chefs,” confides the Chef. With praline, cream, crisp and Bavarian cream elements, Quentin Lechat perfectly combines techniques to enhance all the flavours of the star ingredient.
And as a subtle nod to Maison Messika, a cascade of little golden and caramelised choux buns punctuates this new creation where pastry meets jewellery, evoking gold and diamond elements. It’s a break from the traditional Gâteau Saint-Honoré, a parallel inspired by the very first Messika boutique in the famous Parisian street of the same name. An unexpected touch of indulgence and satisfying surprise.
ELEGANT DESIGN, GOURMET PLEASURE
To complete the gourmet offering, Valérie Messika has designed a magnificent shimmering white and gold box. Taken directly from the House’s faceted cases, the design enhances this magnificent dessert.
Delighting the senses, Messika and Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris have created an inspired dialogue, for celebrations that dazzle with joy. A fleeting, luminous moment to dream.
“As someone who can’t resist a delicious patisserie, the idea of working on a Yule log based on the Move collection was very exciting” - Valérie Messika
