Royal Walls

A family’s Artistic Legacy in the Gulf.
Maria Petrova

In the heart of the UAE’s artistic landscape is a family-run atelier that has become synonymous with bespoke craftsmanship, regal elegance, and time-honored technique. Their journey began in 1996, when a young Russian couple received their first commission - painting the guest apartments of the Ruler of Sharjah’s palace — thanks to the enterprising spirit of a mother who owned a flower shop and the artistic gift of a father whose brush would soon adorn royal walls.

With limited English, the couple relied on their daughter, a trained translator, to connect them with potential clients. She would scour phone books, visit showrooms and offices, and present handmade samples with unwavering belief in their craft. The family's passion caught on. Soon, the younger sister - a professional artist just 17 at the time — joined the team. Today, although she’s based in St. Petersburg, she remains an integral collaborator on major projects.

Over the years, their work has graced the palaces of sheikhs and high society families across the UAE and Qatar. International fashion houses, elite restaurants, and renowned interior designers - including La Sorogeeka, Aysha Nassar Interiors, and SK Design — count them as trusted partners. As the business grew, the family expanded their team, bringing on their husbands and building a crew of highly skilled painters and artisans. Most of their staff has remained with them for nearly two decades — trained personally, deeply valued, and considered part of the extended family.

Their operation is tightly knit. The founders -now a husband-and-wife team are involved in every detail, visiting sites daily. He, a master of restoration; she, a curator of style and quality. The pursuit of excellence never stops. They travel frequently across Europe and Russia, attending exhibitions, learning new techniques, and integrating cutting-edge materials into their practice.

The next generation is already stepping in. Their 16-year-old daughter, currently studying at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, has begun assisting on projects. The company is named after their son, who is studying in Switzerland but contributes whenever possible  both children raised among brushes, sketchbooks, and the quiet rhythm of creative labor.

Since 1997, this family business has completed hundreds of prestigious projects across the Gulf. Their team of four professional Russian artists produces timeless murals, bas-reliefs, and sculptures, while a trained group of 16 painters transforms walls and ceilings with refined Italian and British materials. They are certified specialists for elite brands including De Gournay, Fromental, Novacolor, Mylands, and Yana Svetlova.

Known for their discretion, efficiency, and clean workspaces, they offer free consultations, site visits, sketches, and samples all without obligation. Whether working in marble-clad mansions or boutique hotels, their reputation rests on a promise: to deliver beauty with integrity, always on time.
