Founded in 2015 by Ruta Degutyte, Art de Parfum has built its reputation on bold, contemporary fragrances that carry a strong sense of individuality. The house’s latest creation, Sabotage, is no exception: a scent that disrupts convention with both irony and sensuality.
As Degutyte explains, “The inspiration for SABOTAGE wasn’t a grand plan, but a quiet rebellion. It was the stifling pressure of being ‘good,’ the monotonous hum of conformity. I craved a scent that captured the moment you consciously choose joy over obligation—the blissful sabotage of expectation.”
That rebellion comes alive from the very first spritz. “I envisioned a fragrance that starts with the sharp, bitter-orange clarity of that decision, laced with the herbal intrigue of a new path,” Degutyte continues. Bitter orange, grapefruit, and mandarin open the composition, freshened by spearmint and basil.
From there, the fragrance evolves into “the creamy, intoxicating freedom of tuberose,” contrasted with rhubarb for edge. The base anchors the journey in “a serene, musky warmth,” layered with cedarwood, moss, patchouli, and white musk.
For Degutyte, Sabotage represents the moment “you realize good is boring, and liberation smells absolutely divine.”
