Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza AlNahyan Has Participated In This Year’s Abu Dhabi International Book Fair & Paris Book Fair ‘Livre Paris’

Acclaimed Emirati author, Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza Al Nahyan, has participated in this year’s Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) & Paris Book Fair ‘Livre Paris’, to officially launch her latest book, ‘The Horse, The Saluki, & The Falcon’.

The prestigious  author made debut as a writer in 2019 with her first book ‘The Invisible Orphans’, followed by four additional children's books that pay homage to the author’s Emirati heritage & culture. This year, Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza Al Nahyan will take the spotlight to share her latest work, packed with stories and lessons.

ADIBF, the most prestigious and diverse book fair in the region, aims to shed light on the UAE’s rich heritage and culture as the book fair showcases the authenticity and modernity of the country through the participation and recognition of distinguished authors. Inaugurated 29 years ago by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the book fair has gained a global reputation as a leading literary trade and cultural event in the region, and this year is set to take place from May 23rd until May 29th. In addition to introducing the book at ADIBF, Her Highness will also launch ‘The Horse, The Saluki, & The Falcon’ in one of the most prominent cultural events in Europe, Livre Paris 2021.

The renowned author’s latest addition to her book releases, The Horse, The Saluki & The Falcon is a collection of quotes which aims to shed light on the positivity of the universe and on the silver linings of the life we lead, during a period of growing uncertainty globally. The Horse, The Saluki & The Falcon pays homage to her homeland, taking celebrated animals from the Emirati culture and turning them into icons of wisdom that impart lessons in empathy, love and kindness. Taking stylistic inspiration from Charlie Mackesy’s critically acclaimed book, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse, Sheikha Salama Bint Hazza AlNahyan takes her knack of weaving percipience into prose. This latest release charts the author’s crossover into fiction for a more mature audience.

As Salon du Livre in Paris was called off last year due to Covid-19, the association of the author’s latest book release was postponed to 2021. The paramount event will host professional publishers, booksellers, and librarians where they will learn all about the latest books released from acclaimed authors and accomplished colleagues. In addition to the latest book releases, the exhibition this year will feature several debates, lectures, and conferences which will be taking place from May 28th to May 31st.
