L'Officiel UK : The UK has such a dynamic fashion scene. How do you think British fashion influences your personal style and career?

Hannah Widmer : There’s an edgy, low-key sophistication to British fashion that I love that allows their sense of style to speak for itself. The UK has a style that emits a bold sense of individualism and creativity that allows a person to express their uniqueness. Their fashion is both classic to highly creative and innovative and I love to express myself through my sense of style.

 

 

LO'UK: Being in the spotlight comes with a lot of attention and expectations. How do you stay grounded and maintain authenticity in your work?

HW: I prioritize always being my authentic self. This means knowing who I am and what I stand for. I believe in being kind to everyone and having love and empathy for those around me. I also value creativity—I’m a very creative person, so expressing myself creatively is vital in all areas of my life. It’s how I show who I am.

 

LO'UK: What’s one piece of advice you would give to aspiring models who dream of making it big one day?

HW: To believe in yourself. You won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but at the end of the day, you can’t lose sight of who you are or who you want to be. You have to be strong in your self-worth, stay safe, and never let anyone talk you into something you’re uncomfortable with.

LO'UK: Beyond modeling, do you have any exciting projects or passions you're currently working on that you'd love to share with our readers? 

HW: My passions include riding and spending time with my beautiful Saddlebred horse, Murphy. I am also an avid painter, and stained-glass artist so I spend a lot of time in the studio. 

I have so many exciting projects coming up – I am preparing to sign with Talent Model Management in NYC, there will be a billboard of my Harper’s Bazaar cover in Times Square. I am also doing a documentary and am so excited to share this with the world.

LO'UK: Who has inspired you the most in your life and how?

HW: My mom has been my inspiration since day one. She has always been my biggest supporter, and I have no idea where I would be without her. She has always pushed me to be strive for the best version of myself and believes in me at my worst times – when all I want to do is give up. Without my mom’s constant love and support, I would not be where I am today. Not to mention she is the smartest, most intellectual person that you would be lucky to have in your corner. All that I am and ever will be, I owe to my mom.
