The Luxury of Being Enough: Ajit Nawalkha’s Guide to Intentional Living

We live in a time that normalises rushing, celebrates exhaustion and rewards the relentless chase. But amidst the noise, a quieter question arises: What does it truly mean to thrive?  For Ajit Nawalkha, global entrepreneur, co-founder of Mindvalley and Evercoach, and bestselling author of Live Big, success isn’t defined by how busy you are or how much you do, rather it’s about aligning with who you are when the titles fall away and the noise fades.

“Modern luxury is about the finer things,” Ajit says. “A clear mind. A great body. A loving presence.”

He believes the future of success is not more, but less; less noise, less pressure, less comparison… and more of what truly matters.

Raised in a modest home in North India, Ajit’s early life was rich with poetry, curiosity and devotion. From his grandfather, he learned that true service comes without expectation, while his father encouraged endless questioning, and his mother modelled grace in chaos. These lessons became the foundation for every business he built and every reinvention he embraced.
“When we don’t have resources,” Ajit reflects, “we learn how to be resourceful.”

In today’s age of distractions and instant gratification, Ajit sees a dangerous pattern: The world demands attention from those without intention. Explaining further, he says, “An intentional life begins with reclaiming your focus. You can start small,” he says.

· Block five minutes of silence in your day.

· Turn off notifications.

· Learn to say no without guilt.

“Presence doesn’t happen by accident; it’s a decision, consciously taken, consistently.”

Ajit suggests this simple three-step process to start living outside the autopilot mode, which we all slip into rather easily at times:

Step 1: Define your perfect day. What gives you joy? What brings you alive?
Step 2: Identify the gap between your current day and that perfect day.
Step 3: Outline the actions and skills needed to bridge the gap.

“The most luxurious life,” he says, “is living the day you’ve always wanted, every day.”

Ajit calls emotional freedom one of life’s rarest luxuries. “Feel everything,” he says, “but don’t become it.”

This freedom lives in the pause between a trigger and your response. It’s the ability to name your emotions, sit with them and ask: What are you here to teach me?

Even high achievers often wrestle with the question, Am I enough? Ajit’s answer: “Most of us are living someone else’s definition of enough. Redefine it for yourself.”

He believes ambition isn’t the enemy, but it must be redefined so it inspires authenticity rather than fuels comparison.

Ajit runs every decision through his four core values: Love, Service, Health, Freedom.

· Is it coming from love?

· Is it an act of service?

· Does it honour well-being?

· Does it support freedom?

“When you align with your truth,” he says, “you stop running the rat race. You start living.”

One Question to Transform Your Day:
Ajit’s morning ritual is simple but profound: “How do I want today to unfold?”

With intention as the starting point, each day becomes more conscious, more centred, and more you. And in that alignment, he says, you’ll find the rarest luxury of all… the luxury of being enough.
