Since its founding in 2016 by Miguel Guedes de Sousa and Paula Amorim, JNcQUOI has revolutionised the Portuguese luxury landscape. Born from a fusion of Miguel’s deep-rooted hospitality expertise and Paula’s innate fashion sensibility, JNcQUOI is more than a restaurant group — it’s a lifestyle brand that effortlessly bridges food, fashion, design, and culture.
The journey began with JNcQUOI Avenida, which opened in 2017 on Lisbon’s iconic Avenida da Liberdade. This flagship location set a bold new standard for the city, uniting a refined restaurant, the fashionable JNcQUOI Delibar, and a Fashion Clinic boutique across three intricately designed floors. The space, envisioned by acclaimed Catalan architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán, became a symbol of contemporary Lisbon: stylish, dynamic, and forward-thinking.
At the culinary helm, Chef António Bóia has been a key figure since the start, steering the gastronomic direction of the group with creativity and a deep respect for Portuguese cuisine. Under his leadership, JNcQUOI grew beyond Avenida, opening five additional dining venues and expanding the brand’s footprint across Lisbon and into Comporta.
In 2019, the brand introduced JNcQUOI Asia, a spectacular second restaurant that celebrates the culinary fusion born from the Portuguese Discoveries. Also designed by Rosa-Violán, this venue offers a vibrant journey through the cuisines of China, Japan, Thailand, and India. Crowning the top floor is the exclusive JNcQUOI Club, a members-only space where music, wine, and art converge for a truly immersive cultural experience.
NcQUOI continued its innovation streak with JNcQUOI Frou Frou in 2023 — a bold “restaurant within a restaurant” concept inspired by underground 1920s China. Brought to life by Belgian design house JPDemeyer&Co, the venue dazzles with a riot of colour, live performances, and elevated Cantonese fare.
That same year, the brand expanded beyond the capital with the launch of JNcQUOI Beach Club in Comporta. Designed by globally celebrated architect Vincent Van Duysen, the beachside retreat is a masterclass in sustainable sophistication, where Chef Bóia curates coastal-inspired menus in a stunning natural setting.
In 2024, JNcQUOI Deli Comporta opened — a playful reimagining of the Alentejo tavern, filled with bold colours and elevated comfort food. Above it, the Deli Suite Comporta offers guests a boutique-style stay immersed in the region’s charm and design ethos.
Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be JNcQUOI’s most transformative year yet. The group will debut two new culinary ventures — JNcQUOI Fish and JNcQUOI Table — within JNcQUOI House, Amorim Luxury’s first hotel. The hotel, located on Avenida da Liberdade, will complete this new luxury hub.
In tandem, the ambitious JNcQUOI Club Comporta will be unveiled. This luxury real estate and hospitality project includes a 34-room hotel, 64 private villas, a Beach Club, an Athletic Club & Spa, and more — all designed by Van Duysen. It’s a new chapter in resort living, where exclusivity meets community in harmony with nature.
From urban elegance to coastal escape, JNcQUOI continues to shape the future of Portuguese luxury — one visionary step at a time.
