When one speaks of stylish travel, certain things immediately come to mind: decadent robes, impossible hotel suites, champagne at altitude, and somewhere in the middle of it all — Lucas Raven.
From MTV Asia heartthrob VJ to one of the world’s most stylish travel personalities, Raven has built a career out of making the rest of us reconsider our life choices from seat 34B. And now, naturally, he’s added yet another stamp to the passport: the launch of his luxury travel PR agency, specializing in exactly what he does best — transforming extraordinary destinations into irresistible stories.
Part tastemaker, part raconteur, Raven has long been a trusted authority for men looking to sharpen their sense of style while elevating the art of travel. A contributor to numerous international platforms, his columns across print and digital publications chronicle adventures so cinematic they occasionally sound fictional.
The mixed-race American, now based in the Middle East, balances life between being a husband, devoted dog father to his rather sassy golden retriever Willow, and fronting international campaigns shot everywhere from Dubai and Bhutan to Istanbul. Somewhere between airport lounges, editorial shoots, and impeccably tailored wardrobes, he has quietly built an empire out of lifestyle itself — with appearances spanning global broadcasts and digital platforms alike.
Raven describes his work simply as “a business to influence tasteful adventures.” Not a bad mission statement for a man who has sailed across the Indian Ocean, sipped Dom Pérignon while dog sledding through Iceland, and enjoyed breakfast beside Africa’s Great Migration. Luxury travel may have existed before Lucas Raven, but he certainly made it dress better.
Always chasing the next horizon, he has perfected a lifestyle formula rooted in curiosity, culture, and an unwavering refusal to stay still for too long. “It’s important to have a relationship with your dreams. I am a dreamer, a daydreamer. I dream in my sleep, but most important of all, I make my dreams happen while I’m awake,” he says. His philosophy on style is equally uncompromising. “Style shouldn’t become someone’s identity — it should reflect it. Who I am is my style. Beautiful cities inspire me: the tailors, the food, the colours, the architecture, the hat makers. Anyone who is well-travelled is cultured enough to dress the part every day.”
Among his favourite menswear labels is New & Lingwood, famed for its whimsical robes — perfectly suited to Raven’s equally whimsical destinations. Social media, meanwhile, has only amplified the fascination. Under the moniker Followtheraven, he has cultivated a loyal following of fashion enthusiasts, wanderlusters, designers, royals, and celebrities alike.
Yet beneath the glamour lies perspective. Reflecting on one of his most memorable journeys, Raven recalls a childhood trip to Nepal with his father. “I saw children walking miles barefoot, probably hungry, just to get fresh water. Since then, I’ve never taken anything for granted.”
As for what’s next? Apparently, slowing down was never part of the itinerary. Raven recently completed a book, launched a Panama hat collaboration with Ecuadorian artisans, and now enters the world of luxury travel communications with his new agency — helping brands capture the same sense of aspiration, elegance, and escapism that has defined his own career.
Naturally, his ultimate travel wish remains the most Raven-esque of all: a holiday to the Moon aboard Virgin Galactic.
Until then, Earth seems to be keeping him busy enough. Are you following?
