AIGNER | Arts & Crafts

AIGNER returned to Milan Fashion Week showcasing its new Spring/Summer 2024 collection inspired by the artistic dimension of the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century.

The main themes of the Arts and Crafts movement are the return to craftsmanship as well as the use of high-quality materials of natural and sustainable origin — both being key elements of the new collection. These are interpreted visually through colours derived from the floral and naturalistic universe, lush and refined patterns and through luxurious specials of the classic bag series.

The floral pattern “Honeysuckle”, inspired by the works of William Morris, one of the founders of the Arts and Crafts movement, is the central design element of the SS24 fashion show and is used in various ways in the collection and show.

Christian Alexander Beck, Creative Director of AIGNER, presents contemporary and exceptional fashion looks alternating between striking and sculptural designs, oversized looks and sheer ensembles with an artistic approach. Suits with crop tops and low rise baggy pants in wool georgette and nappa leather, figure-hugging tops, skirts and dresses and shiny patent leather mini-dresses all feature in the show. Printed tulle bodysuits in the season‘s signature pattern Honeysuckle create an interesting tattoo look and are worn alongside oversized leather trench coats, utility jackets and mini skirts. Crop tops, tops, skirts and dresses made of Hypertube — a sheer silk emblazed with flowers made of silicone – create an artistic 3D-effect on the clothes. Leather goods have always been at the core of the Munich-based brand. At the show, several must-have bags and classics are presented alongside some new limited-edition items to complement the looks created for AIGNER‘s return to Milan Fashion Week.

Exclusively for the Fashion Show, AIGNER presents its famous signature bag, the CYBILL Bag, in the Stretch and Stretch Mini version with different finishes – one in grained leather with gold and silver metallic studs and the other one in shiny leather with crocodile pattern.

A great highlight of the show is the CYBILL Bag Honeysuckle, a special edition of the CYBILL Bag Stretch and a real icon whose name is protected worldwide – no other bag is allowed to carry it. It comes in a medium and mini version in the colours “Pearl“ and “Luxe Blue“. The floral pattern is applied to the leather via a digital printing technique.

Like all CYBILL Bags, the specials are handmade in AIGNER‘s partner factory in Italy and once again stand for detailed craftsmanship and the highest quality materials.

Also available now is the NOVA Bag Honeysuckle. The special edition is inspired by a vintage model from the AIGNER archive. Its reduced, clear design language stands in exciting contrast to the expressive floral print. The statement handles in horseshoe shape are a subtle reference back to AIGNER‘s brand DNA. The special edition is available in three sizes in the colour “Pearl“. A special detail is the floral Honeysuckle motif in woven jacquard fabric, which is produced in a small manufactory in Italy.
