This new guard cast a contemporary refinement: easeful, free-spirited, daring. For a brand established in Los Angeles, the Hollywood lights inspire in a manner that is close to home and familiar to the heart.
Presented inside a venue evoking a movie theater, the velvet curtain is the ultimate cinematic motif. Eras intertwine, as do notions of glamour and formality: the timeless allure of Old Hollywood with the undone irreverence of the 90s. At once rebellious and romantic, these rising stars deconstruct traditional American tuxedos towards loose, thrifted fits. Double-breasted shapes are elongated, shoulders softened and blazers cropped; pyjama silhouettes and robe collars relax into backstage loungewear. High-waist trousers flare out with exaggerated nonchalance – slim belts expand the proportion play, overhanging with a skate sensibility.
The iconic interiors and textures of LA’s heritage movie theaters echo through the collection, their red velvet seating mirrored by subtle embellishments, and rich tones recontextualized across an expressive palette: champagne, teal, dusty blue, tan, burgundy, and, specifically, this season’s emblematic Blush, a lavish pink hue that fills the venue. All the while, luxurious fabrications are artfully transformed – washed leather, tweed, wool twill, printed suede, silk and mohair.
Illustrating AMIRI’s high-craft, the new MA Quad pattern makes its debut, establishing a geometric house monogram interpreted as printed silk scarves, embossed velvet suiting, tailoring and jackets, alongside a cursive MA script and a contemporary reimagining of 50s fleck – realised in graphic print, tweed pattern and hand-beading. Hollywood iconography translates throughout: hand-embroidered in gold thread and beading, AMIRI Pictures begins production; the LA map is woven into a jacquard tapestry; and an image of the city under spotlights embellishes a cropped leather blouson jacket in hand-applied gradient sequins.
Amplifying an Americana attitude, leopard print patterns subtly incorporate the brand’s signature MA logo, decorating knits, scarves and footwear, while silk shirts are worn unbuttoned over crystal under pinnies. Collected curios are worn as customized ornate trinkets – brooches, pins and pendants – and shawl lapels, extended collars and contrast piping make contemporary cameos. This seamless mix of classic and casual, screen and street is a distinctly American story that AMIRI embodies and evolves.
The new Sunset Skate sneaker silhouette is introduced, designed with exaggerated proportions and the house’s synonymous three-star motif, alongside this season’s Stacked Loafers, both styles are offered in leather and suede versions – some contrasted with leopard print pony skin or meticulously hand-encrusted with crystal ornamentation. Portfolio bags reflect ready-to-wear motifs while decorated wool beanies are modern interpretations of statement headwear.
A celebration of Hollywood lore, the collection is an ode to the stories rooted in its stars.
