As the UAE prepares to mark Eid Al Etihad 2025, the spirit of unity and culture has taken on a new, beautifully local form. Homegrown gifting platform Flowwow, known for its creative collaborations, has teamed up with Emirati artist Batool Al Tameemi to honour the age-old traditions of generosity and hospitality for a new generation.
The simple yet deeply significant collaboration centres around a limited-edition gift set. At its heart is a hand-crafted Arabic ceramic cup, illustrated by Batool in her signature style, and paired with a handmade banoffee cake jar.
“In the Emirates, hospitality is not just a custom, it’s the thread that weaves people together,” says Flowwow co-founder and CEO Slava Bogdan. “This project is our tribute to the acts of kindness that define our culture, from serving gahwa and dates in the majlis to the small moments of generosity that bring people closer.”
Batool’s illustration on the ceramic cup tells that story in a single image: two hands, one giving, one receiving. The hand offering the gift is adorned with rawai’b henna, a traditional motif associated with beauty, grace, and ceremonial gatherings. The piece is a visual metaphor for the deep cultural roots of sharing that shape everyday life in the UAE.
For Batool, the collaboration felt natural. “This was about honouring a tradition I grew up with - the strength in how we give to one another, how generosity becomes a language of love and belonging.”
But the project isn’t just about aesthetic storytelling. Every purchase from the collection includes a 15 AED donation to Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), reinforcing the value of giving back. Charity is a cornerstone of Emirati culture, and this gesture ensures that the act of gifting also carries forward real impact.
The Flowwow x Batool Al Tameemi collection is more than a gift, it’s a reminder that the art of giving is one of the UAE’s most enduring legacies, now interpreted with craft, care and cultural resonance.
