Himitsu, Dubai’s hidden Japanese speakeasy within Alba Restaurant at Dubai Opera Plaza, announces the launch of the Himitsu Whisky Series in collaboration with Suntory, Japan’s legendary house of whisky.
The series will showcase Suntory’s most iconic expressions through curated flights, bespoke cocktails, and intimate tastings with food pairings – celebrating Japanese craftsmanship, culture, and Himitsu’s spirit of secrecy and discovery. The launch event will take place on September 4th, featuring a limited-edition whisky journey and cocktails inspired by Japanese tradition.
The series starts with a selection of Suntory’s finest a la carte, entitled “Your whisky, your way” including classic glasses of Toki Whisky, Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve, and Hibiki Harmony, to experience the full flavour of the spirits.
Guests are invited to unlock the elegance of whisky based cocktails through four specially curated mixes: the Himitsu no Kagi, the Circle of Classics, the Himitsu no Shikumi, and the Serve of Stillness.
Three carefully chosen whisky tasting floats form the foundation of the Himitsu Whisky Series to experience “Your journey”:
* "Lanterns of Kyoto" - Kyōto no Akari (AED 120)
A combination of Hibiki Harmony and Toki Whisky, served with artisan handrolls, sashimi or nigiri. Inspired by smoke and cherry blossoms, this spirit is reminiscent of Kyoto's peaceful, lantern-lit alleyways.
* "Shadows in Red" - Kage to Shinku (AED 135)
A blend of Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve and Toki Whisky, served with artisan maki rolls, sashimi or nigiri. This flight evokes the grace of a geisha while capturing the warmth of whisky.
* “A Night’s Three Paths” - Sanpō no Yoru (AED 155)
A journey across Toki Whisky, Yamazaki, and Hibiki, paired with artisan handrolls or maki rolls, nigiri or sashimi and dessert. This is the ultimate experience presenting three masterworks from Suntory for those who wish to explore the best of the best of Japanese whisky.
The Himitsu Whiskey Series is shepherded by Dikshant Tanwar, Bar Manager at Himitsu, who has carved out a serious reputation in the region’s cocktail circle for being an energetic and innovative trendsetter, running Himitsu with precision. Under his lead, Himitsu hosts global guest shifts, secret DJ nights, and evolving cocktail programmes that feel more like curated events than regular bar service.
