Silk pyjamas have quietly re-entered the fashion conversation with a soft, persuasive elegance. Once reserved for the privacy of evening rituals, they are now emerging as symbols of a new kind of luxury, one that privileges comfort, intimacy, and emotional ease. In an era increasingly drawn to slower rhythms and mindful living, sleepwear has evolved into something far more expressive.

Fluid silhouettes, luminous fabrics, and relaxed tailoring move effortlessly between the bedroom and the outside world, blurring the boundaries between rest and style. Silk, with its natural lightness and subtle sheen, has become the fabric of this moment: sensual yet discreet, indulgent yet reassuringly simple.

Within this renewed appreciation for refined loungewear, Estonian model Karmen Pedaru introduces a deeply personal interpretation of silk pyjamas, one that blends fashion with memory, artistry, and emotional well-being. After years spent travelling the world’s fashion capitals, Pedaru has turned inward, creating a small collection that reflects the quiet rituals of returning home.

Her designs embrace the timeless language of classic pyjama dressing: relaxed button-down shirts, fluid trousers, and silk, Mulberry silk, that glides gently against the skin. Yet the pieces carry something more intimate: prints drawn from Pedaru’s own creative practice.

Long before the runway lights, painting was her private refuge, a way to navigate the anxieties and pressures of a demanding life. The motifs that appear across the silk garments echo that artistic process, transforming personal expression into wearable form.

Pedaru describes, exclusively for L’Officiel Arabia, the origin of the project with disarming sincerity:

“Creating this brand was deeply personal for me. After years of travelling as a model, I realised how important comfort becomes at the end of a long day. Painting has helped me through anxiety and panic attacks since before my teenage years, and creating my own prints, whether painted or developed from ideas, is something I have always loved. I wanted to create pieces that help women feel good at home, especially on days when they don’t feel their best, using beautiful, high-quality materials and prints from my own creative world.”

In this sense, the collection is less about fashion statements and more about emotional landscapes. Each garment becomes a small sanctuary, a soft layer between the body and the world.

As silk pyjamas regain their place in contemporary wardrobes, Pedaru’s vision reminds us that true luxury may lie in something far simpler: the quiet comfort of feeling at ease with oneself.
