Greek cooking, apart from its immense health benefits, is also extremely pleasant to the palette. Be it creamy mounds of glistening tzatziki, or crispy, meltingly tender lamb fresh out of the oven, or fresh salad dotted with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and feta! Thankfully you don’t have to travel to Greece to enjoy an authentic Greek meal. Philotimos Meze + Grill is now open in Dar Al Wasl Mall Jumeirah. The concept behind the restaurant is to create an authentic dining experience featuring traditional Greek dishes and ambiance.

The dynamic duo behind BB Social Dining and Soule Soups - Spero Paganakis and Alexander Stumpf created the concept of Philotimos, which means “love of honour” in Greek. Co-founder Spero explains: “Our overall approach to sustainability is reinforced by our love of community.  Philotimos promises to bring the communities of Dubai a cuisine full of Greek traditions, with the simple yet intense flavours that you would expect from a local village when passing through, or simply going to visit family and friends.”

Chef Alexander Stumpf adds: “The similarity between the Greek and Arab culture became clearer and clearer as we were building the concept from the sharing style to the love of simple, perfectly seasoned, family-friendly dishes.”

The best early learning platform the restaurant had was a pop-up during the world-renowned Expo 2020 - The Little Greek Shop.  From this, both co-founders realized that there was a gap in the market and the demand for their dishes was immense, therefore Philotimos was born.

The delicious Greek menu aims to bring family and friends together as it divides into meze and grill designed to share and enjoy a wide variety of traditional meats and healthy options for vegans and vegetarians.
