Dubai Opera Will Present An Array of Spectacular Performances

During January, February, and March see five fantastic performances presented by Dubai Opera: Omar Khairat, The Gipsy Kings by Tonino Baliardo, Ludovico Einaudi, Ballet Icons Gala2023, and Bonobo.

Kicking off 2023 in glittering style, Dubai Opera, the ultimate performing arts destination, is thrilled to present five dazzling performances that will take place in January, February, and March 2023.

2023 will continue to showcase an exciting, and multifaceted entertainment offering, ensuring there’s something for everyone. This unique and awe-inspiring venue will bring the world’s most acclaimed musicals, shows, and concerts to both residents and visitors of the UAE.

With visitor numbers surpassing the 1 million in 2022, Dubai Opera looks forward to bolstering the city’s burgeoning arts and entertainment scene in 2023!

Omar Khairat (Arabic Classical)

Renowned musician Omar Khairat will once again perform at Dubai Opera. The founder and conductor of the Omar Khairat Band, this singer was born in Cairo and raised in a family of musicians, including his uncle, Abou-Bakr Khairat, who is a great Egyptian composer of classical music. An architect by profession, Khairat studied privately in Paris and founded the Cairo Conservatoire, which is regarded as the premier music conservatory in Egypt. Khairat’s music bridges the divide between contemporary Egyptian and Western genres, having composed several works, including The Magic Perfumes (1989) and Arabic Rhapsody (1992).

The Gipsy Kings by Tonino Baliardo (Flamenco, World Music)

Dubai Opera presents the kings of Catalan rumba, The Gipsy Kings by Tonino Baliardo, in an exciting, high-energy performance. Throughout their hugely successful career, the Gipsy Kings introduced millions of listeners to a unique, irresistible blend of traditional flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Their penchant to bring their distinctive style to the masses is truly evident in their massively popular hits such as Bamboléo and Volare, Djobi Djoba and so much more! Get ready for a night of singing and dancing to the rhythms of all your favourite hits!

Ludovico Einaudi (Classical)

After three sold-out performances at Dubai Opera in 2018 and 2019, composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi returns with a highly anticipated concert. A true musical luminary and one of the best-loved composers of his generation, he has enjoyed unprecedented mainstream success for a classical composer, with over 2.5million albums globally. With over one million streams a day, the pianist has clocked up a staggering two billion streams, making him the biggest streamed classical artist of all time.

Ballet Icons Gala 2023 (Ballet)

Following its success last year, The Ballet Icons Gala 2023 returns to Dubai Opera with a stellar international cast celebrating the beautiful art of ballet with a highly acclaimed star-studded event hailing from London. Considered by audiences and critics as one of world’s cultural and social highlights, the show is performed by international ballet stars and multi-awarded principals from the world’s most prestigious ballets. Further highlights include performances from classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Les Corsaires, Don Quixote, La Sylphide, Romeo & Juliette, alongside contemporary masterpieces by leading choreographers of the 20/21 centuries such as Roland Petit, Jerome Robbins, Alexey Ratmansky, Akram Khan, Wayne McGregor, John Neumeier, Jean-Christophe Maillot and Mauro Bigonzetti.

Bonobo (Electronic)

Bonobo aka Simon Green will give an electrifying performance that will showcase his new Fragments album. One of the biggest names in dance music, Green’s career includes seven GRAMMY nominations, having played huge arenas, selling out London’s Alexandra Palace three times, as well as Denver’s legendary Red Rock Amphitheatre, not to mention Glastonbury and Coachella. Fragments is a huge event, it might very well be Bonobo's masterpiece, proving the most emotionally intense record he is yet to create. Its electronic sound is powerfully hypnotic and the songs are unforgettable, making for an incredible performance.
