The show took place in Florence – a location synonymous with the history of fashion and craftsmanship. 50 international brands presented looks that reflected not only their iconography and heritage, but also their contemporary style DNA. In homage to Vivienne Westwood, the catwalk showcased archival Vivienne Westwood silhouettes and the debut of a special capsule collection designed exclusively for LuisaViaRoma.
The Vivienne Westwood looks modelled by Rejoice Chuol, Stella Maxwell and Lea T, featured unique pieces synonymous with the British design house.
From the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label archive Autumn-Winter 2006/07 collection titled – ‘Innocent’, Rejoice Chuol wore an architectural corset gown in silk taffeta, with sweeping statement cowl hood, styled with a pannier underskirt - juxtaposing the Greco-Roman drapery with 18th century inspired voluminous skirt.
Stella Maxwell walked the runway in the exclusive Vivienne Westwood capsule collection, which will be available to purchase. The look included pieces inspired by the Vivienne Westwood archive – an iconic ‘Sunday’ corset, ‘Meghan’ kilt, ‘Elevated Ghillie’ platforms and ‘Mini Yasmine’ bag crafted in surplus archive fabric tartans, in a rich colour palette of burgundy and green, contrasted with lilac. The look was styled with a tulle cape and crystal drop earrings from the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2023/24 collection.
Finally, from the Vivienne Westwood archives, a sculptural corseted grand gown with train and stole in silk changeant tartans was worn by Lea T. The bespoke look, handcrafted in the London atelier, combines distinct Vivienne Westwood historical and experimental pattern cutting techniques. The gown was styled with a classic pearl choker and ‘Elevated Ghillie’ tartan platforms, that feature in the ‘available to buy’ upcoming exclusive capsule collection.
The exclusive capsule collection will be available via www.luisaviaroma.com, as well as Vivienne Westwood flagship boutiques in the UK, Milan, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and www.viviennewestwood.com.
